Q: Who notifies the state of course completion and CE credits?A: Foremost reports to the state where required when an individual completes a course and issues a certificate of completion. In some states the individual is responsible to report CE credits. In that case our obligation is to send you a certificate of completion. Please review the CE reporting rules for your state's Department of Insurance.
Q: What states require a monitor to be present while taking an online course exam? A: Exams taken for CE credit must be monitored by a disinterested third-party, a licensed agent or a supervisor/manager in Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming. South Carolina and New York require a state-approved monitor. A list of South Carolina and New York approved monitors is available on each state's Department of Insurance website.

Q: I am licensed in a neighboring state, but I would like to attend a classroom seminar. Will CE credits apply to the state I need for CE credit?A: If the same course is approved in your resident state totaling the same number of continuing education credits, then the credits will apply. Please contact 1-800-237-6136 Prompt # 5 Option # 2 to verify. Note: During registration, please indicate next to your name what state you would like your CE credits to apply to.
Q: I took the same course a year or two years ago, will I still get CE credit if I take the same course within this time frame?A: Each state has a compliance period in which you need to fulfill a certain number of CE credit requirements to renew your license. If you have taken the same course twice within the same compliance period, only one set of CE credits would apply. Check your home state CE rules to see if carryover credits are allowed.
Q: If I show up late or leave early for a classroom seminar will I still get CE credit?A: In order to obtain CE credit for the classroom seminar, you have to be in attendance the entire duration of the seminar class. We often have auditors attending our classes, and we must follow the rules in order to avoid losing our CE provider status.
Q: Is there a limit to how many CE credits I can get?A: No, but you must take different courses to satisfy your individual CE requirements. For example, if state B requires 20 hours of CE credit, you may take five courses at four hours a piece to reach 20, but each course must be a uniquely filed course in the state. Consult the state map located within CE Information (make sure you click on the name of the state) to find out the requirements for your state.
Q: What is the charge per person for an online course?A: The charge for online courses taken for CE credit is range from $10 - $40 per course depending on the number of CE credits available. If you do NOT want to obtain CE credit, the online course is FREE!
Q: What is the charge per person for a classroom seminar?A: The cost can vary. After logging into the ForemostEducation website, please click on the state where you would like to register for a classroom seminar and then go to the “All Available” section. This section of the website will show you what seminars are available in your area and list the price.
Q: What is the online course cancellation policy?A: You can cancel your registration for an online course at any time, but no refund will be given.
Q: What is the classroom seminar cancellation policy?A: If the classroom seminar registration has been cancelled by the student earlier than 15 business days prior to the seminar OR if the seminar is canceled by Foremost, a full refund will be issued.*Please note: No Refund will be issued if you cancel less than 15 business days from seminar date.
Q: How will I be notified if Foremost cancels a classroom seminar?A: If you registered on ForemostEducation (and provided an email address), we will send a cancellation notice to you via email. If you registered from the faxed/mailed invitation we will contact you via telephone or email. Please note to make sure your contact information is correct and up-to-date so we are able to notify you of changes or cancellations.

Q: Do I have to maintain copies of my course completion certificates? A: Licensees must maintain their own file of original proofs of course completions.

Q: Once I am registered do you send me course materials?A: Online Courses – everything you will need to register and complete an online course is available to you on this ForemostEducation website.
Classroom Seminars – your instructor may hand out course materials during the seminar, and will distribute completion certificates at the end of the course.
Q: What if I have a dual license?A: If this situation applies to you, call your state's Department of Insurance for details.
Q: Which producer code do I use when signing up? Do I use my Farmers or Foremost code?A: You must use your nine-digit Foremost code when using the ForemostEducation.com website.
Q: Are you planning on phasing out classroom seminars? A: No. Offering both online and classroom seminars satisfies many learning styles. We can reach a broader audience by offering online courses. However, classroom seminars will continue to be an integral part of the ForemostEducation curriculum.
Q: Will agents still receive a paper invitation to classroom seminars? A: Yes, you will still receive paper invitations when classroom seminars are available in your area.
Q: I am unable to attend the seminar, but would like to receive the information. Who would I contact?A: Please call our Supply Department directly at 1-800-237-6136 Prompt # 6, call your inside field representative or email education@foremost.com with your nine-digit Foremost or Farmers Producer Number, name, state and product information you would like to receive.
Q: Can I take both online and classroom seminar courses?A: You may mix and match both types of courses to satisfy your CE requirements. Or, you can take all online or all classroom seminar courses.
Q: I’m not a licensed agent, can I still attend or can my unlicensed CSR attend?A: Yes, anyone from the invited agencies may attend the seminar. For those attending, but NOT receiving continuing education credits, there is no charge for the seminar.
Q: I am not appointed with Foremost, but interested in attending the seminar and want to become appointed, can I attend?A: Definitely! The instructor or host can provide you with the information you need in order to become appointed with Foremost.

Q: I am not a licensed agent, can I still take an online course?A: Yes, anyone can take the online courses. If you are not taking an online course for CE credit, there is no charge.
Q: I am not appointed with Foremost, but I’m interested in taking the online courses and want to become appointed, may I take the course?A: Definitely! Select the option to find out more about becoming an appointed agent with Foremost.
Q: When I register for a course, can I pay online with a credit card? A: Yes! We are pleased to announce that we now accept payment by credit cards.
Q: Can payment be made over the phone via credit card?A: ForemostEducation offers an easy to use payment method that will allow you to process a payment directly on the website using your credit card.
Q: Can payment for a course be taken out of my agent commission?A: Payment cannot be taken out of Agent Statement or Folio.
Q: Can payment for a course be brought to the classroom seminar?A: Payment by check, cash or money order made out to Foremost Insurance Company can be mailed in with a copy of the registration form. Payment is also accepted the day of the seminar during registration.
Q: Can you bill me for a classroom seminar if I show up as a “Walk-In” (never registered for the class through ForemostEducation)?A: Foremost does not issue invoices for classroom seminars. If you are a walk-in and a seat is available, you will need to make a check out to Foremost Insurance Company and hand it to the instructor before the class begins. CE credits will not be submitted to your respective state if you do not pay for the class.
