In some states you need to earn your insurance-related continuing education credits well in advance of your renewal date. Below is a list of states and the timing they require for completing CE credits:

| 1 month prior to renewal

| 30 days prior to renewal
| Iowa
| December 31. Renewal is April 1
| Louisiana
| December 31 prior to license renewal or the date
shown on your renewal form
| Minnesota
| October 31
| Nebraska
| 45 days prior to renewal
| New Hampshire
| 60 days prior to renewal
| Pennsylvania
| 60 days prior to renewal

Most states have changed their licensing deadlines to variable dates such as the anniversary of your license renewal or your date of birth. Check your records to determine if your license deadline is approaching. Check with your state's department of insurance for more information on renewal requirements, deadlines, and fees.
